Ipswich – Charlene A. (Sullivan) Brogna, 74, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Ronald E. Brogna. Born in Lowell on January 31, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Capitola Hovey McCabe.
Mrs. Brogna was a graduate of Wilmington High School. She was employed as the religious education director at the former St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ipswich. Mrs. Brogna and her husband Ronald founded Seafood Specialty Sales in Ipswich, which they owned and operated together for over 20 years. Mrs. Brogna was active in the community, including with her husband at the former St. Joseph's, and as a Girl Scout leader for many years. A devoted and loving mother, aunt, and grandmother, Mrs. Brogna was happiest when surrounded by and caring for her family. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald on March 25, 2009.
Mrs. Brogna is survived by her 2 children : Michael Brogna of Danvers and her daughter Amy Brogna-Baione and her husband Matthew of Haverhill. Her 3 grandchildren : Christopher Brogna, Marisa Brogna and Isaiah Baione. She is also survived by her brother : William Iovanna of Raymond, NH and her 3 sisters : Janis Hall of Stoneham, Bonnie McElhaney of Maryville, TN and Sharon Caira of Wilmington, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 28th at 9 :00 A.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial will follow in the New Highland Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Friday, July 27th. from 6 :00 to 8 :00 P.M in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
