Ipswich – Mrs. Doris S. (Przybylo) Dudek, of Ipswich, passed away at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield on Tuesday September 25, 2018 after a brief illness. She was the wife for 45 years to the late Edward J. Dudek. She was born in Ipswich and remained a lifelong resident in “Pole Alley” for her entire 95 years. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Agata (Swiatkowska) Przybylo.
Doris was employed at the Sylvania plant for some 20 plus years. She had a great love for the Sacred Heart Polish Catholic Church and enjoyed the many Polish Picnics and festivities through the years, by the Church and later by the St. Lawrence Society which she was a member of. Doris also was involved with the Kosciusko Club becoming the first lady when the club was built, in the late 1940’s. Her husband Eddie, was the president when the club was built. Later on she became the first president of the P.L.A.V. Auxiliary when again, her husband Eddie was the first Commander in 1962. Doris loved her polish polkas and went to many dances and Polkabrations when Eddie was alive and also was always willing to give a Polish lesson to both of her grandchildren and their friends, whether they wanted it or not (LOL).
Doris became a Gold Star Mother when her son Robert’s “Bob’s” plane crashed in Thailand in October 1968 during the Vietnam War.
Doris is survived by her son Thomas M. Dudek of Ipswich and her 2 grandchildren: Jessica Dudek Wright and her husband Graham Wright of Newburyport, Edward “Eddie” Dudek and his partner Denise McCarthy of Ipswich. She is also survived by her 2 beautiful great-granddaughters: Emilia Ann Wright and baby Charlotte Theoradora Dudek. Doris also leaves a loving sister Jennie Wysocki of Ipswich and her nephew Richard Wysocki and his wife Patti, along with their daughters Jennifer and Courtney Wysocki. She was also precedeased by her godson Michael Wysocki in 2011 and her 3 brothers: Stephen “Cappy” Bylo and his wife Margerette, Frederick “Spike” Przybylo and Walter “Buck” Przybylo.
Many thanks go out to the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield for their professionalism, caring and love that was shown to Doris during her remaining days. God Bless.
