BEVERLY - Mr. John “Jack” F. Bona age 81 years, died Saturday morning, February 16, 2019 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington MA with his wife Mary (Pappas-DeCesare) Bona by his side. Born in Lynn, son of the late Lawrence John and Margaret E. (Burke) Bona, brother of the late William J. Bona and Lawrence J. Bona; and leaves his brother Thomas R. Bona of Maine and two sisters, Barbara (Bona) Morneau and Patricia (Bona) Chalmers; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1956, attended North Shore Community College, North Eastern, and Wentworth where he furthered his education while employed with Conti and Donahue / R.C. Griffin Construction over the span of 26 years. Mr. Bona was then employed by Advanced Industries (AEI) where he worked as a Project Manager until his retirement.
A longtime resident of Beverly, he was enlisted in the US Reserves from 1955 thru 1960, a member of the Italian Community Club (ICC), and a golf enthusiast.
Surviving him is his daughter Danielle (Bona) Sidmore, her husband Marcus and his granddaughter Katie of Danvers. He also leaves his stepchildren, Dina DeCesare of Beverly, Jeanne (DeCesare) and her husband David Lombardi of Maine, Dino DeCesare and his wife Jami of Texas, Darlene (DeCesare) and her husband Joe Seta of Rowley, and Marie DeCesare of Gloucester. As well as five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11 am in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Rd., Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
