Ipswich – Joseph W. Linehan, Jr., 80, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning April 3, 2018 in the Beverly Hospital. Born in Lynn on December 16, 1937 he was the son of the late Joseph W. Linehan, Sr., and Mary E. (Sullivan) Linehan.
Mr. Linehan was a life-long resident of Ipswich, he was a graduate of St. John’s Prep in Danvers. He served in the Army reserves for 6 years during the Vietnam War. Mr. Linehan worked for the family roofing company for many years before he began his own livery service, Joseph Linehan Limo Service, which he owned and operated for many years to this day. Through his business he made a lot of close friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Linehan is survived by his 2 daughters: Druanne Prentiss and Ryane Linehan, both of Ipswich, his granddaughter Hayleigh Prentiss also of Ipswich. He is also survived by 2 brothers and their wives: John and Eileen Linehan of Palm Coast, FL, Robert and Nancy Linehan of Monson, ME, 1 sister Beverly Harris of Suffield, CT, and also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Linehan was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Reardon formerly of Windsor Locks, CT.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday April 7th. from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited. A private service will be held at a later date, burial will be in the New Highland Cemetery in Ipswich.
