Ipswich – Leonard M. Dupray, 75, husband of Martha A. (Randall) Dupray, died early Friday morning July 20, 2018 at his home after a long illness. Born in Beverly on September 25, 1942 he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Mary M. (Lynch) Dupray.
Mr. Dupray was a graduate of Ipswich High School, Class of 1960. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, he was a tunnel rat. He received a Bronze Star for his service and was honorably discharged. When he returned from Vietnam Mr. Dupray worked as an arborist for several local area tree companies and was also a part-time crane operator for Georgetown Iron Works. He then went on to work with his brothers William and Robert at Bostik Company of Middleton for over 12 years where he retired. Upon his retirement Mr. Dupray enjoyed going to his grandchildrens’ sporting events. He was very active in his grandchildrens lives every day. In his younger days he participated in: hockey, wrestling and football for the Ipswich High School. Later he would enjoy fishing, boating, hunting and spending many weekends with family and friends.
Mr. Dupray is survived by, in addition to his wife Martha of Ipswich, his 4 children and their spouses: Michael Dupray of Ipswich, Michelle and Michael Gagnon also of Ipswich, Marci Mann of Newburyport, Melissa and Jeff Bromby also of Newburyport. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren: Abigail, Analise and A.J., Jacqueline and Jenna, Haley, Brooke and Evan. Mr. Dupray is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Bill and Valerie Dupray, his sister and brother-in-law Dottie and Donnie Greenleaf, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother Robert Dupray formerly of Ipswich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday July 24th. at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial with military honors will be in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Monday July 23rd. from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
