Ipswich – Robert N. Nadeau, 90, husband of Priscilla M. (Sweeney) Nadeau, died unexpectedly Saturday July 21, 2018 after a short illness. Born in Coventry, Vermont on January 18, 1928 he was the son of the late Charles and Valentine (Benjamin) Nadeau.
Mr. Nadeau was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army in Okinawa. Later he would own and operate Nadeau’s Construction Corp. of Beverly for 35 years. Mr. Nadeau was a life-time member of the V.F.W. Post# 1093 of Ipswich. He frequented the Italian Community Club and the Franco-American Club, both of Beverly where he enjoyed playing cards. He also was an avid deer hunter.
Mr. Nadeau is survived by, in addition to his wife Priscilla of Ipswich, 3 children : Karen Comeau of Ipswich, Ronald Nadeau of Rowley, Kim Cotreau and her husband Kenneth of Beverly. Also survived by his 7 grandchildren : Katelyn Comeau, Zachary Comeau, Kristen Casali, Lewis Nadeau, Casey Nadeau, Benjamin Cotreau and Patric Cotreau, and his 2 great-grandchildren : Jack Sawyer and Gianna Casali and his daughter-in-law Shirley Nadeau of Newport, VT. Mr. Nadeau was predeceased by his son Robert Nadeau, Jr. formerly of Newport, VT and his son-in-law Michael Comeau formerly of Beverly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday July 27th. at 10 :00 A.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial with military honors will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Thursday July 26th. from 6 :00 to 8 :00 P.M. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
