Ipswich – Steven Robert McClenaghan, of Ipswich, born on February 12, 1952 in Glendale, California, to Clara (Nelsen) and Willis McClenaghan, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at age 66 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his family.
He was raised in Anaheim, California with his three siblings. He graduated from the University of Redlands and continued to live in Southern California with his two daughters until moving to Massachusetts to continue his career at GTE Sylvania where he worked for 19 years before his retirement. Later, he owned and operated The Office Store in downtown Ipswich, with his wife Catie for 8 years.
Steven is survived by his wife of 30 years, Catie McClenaghan, his children: Shannon Woodhall and her husband Wayne, Melissa Dickerson and her husband Rick, Derek McClenaghan and Rachel McClenaghan, his siblings Timothy McClenaghan and Peggy Oles, and his grandchildren: Blake, Austin and Jennifer Woodhall. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother Daniel McClenaghan. He was known by his friends and family as a hard-working, determined individual who was an avid boater, loved to read and was a life-long learner.
Friends and family are welcomed to join us for an intimate celebration of life Tuesday, March 20th. at 2:00 P.M. at First Congregational Church, 1 Meeting House Green, Ipswich. A time of fellowship will follow the celebration of life in the church hall. There will be no visiting hours.
