Winifred Caroline Owsiak

Ipswich – Winifred Caroline Owsiak, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at The Kaplan House in Danvers where she received the most passionate care and love.

     Born April 9, 1927 in Ipswich, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosalia (Grapka) Owsiak.  She is predeceased by her 5 siblings:  Stacia Owsiak, Mary Kaszuba, Gertrude Owsiak, Stella Drougas and Peter Owsiak.  Winnie lived in her birth home for 89 years, and recently moved to Amesbury to live with her niece and nephew.  She retired from GTE Osram Syvania with over 40 years of employment.

     She is survived by her nieces and nephews:  Andy and Elaine Kaszuba, Judi and Charlie Fortin, Peter and Nadine Drougas, Cathy and the late Michael Lewis, Diane and Randy Brown, Peter and Lori Owsiak, Karen and Stew Blessington and Janet and Ricky Speller along with several great and great-great nieces and nephews whom she adored and enjoyed babysitting and playing with daily.  She was honored to have her great-great niece named after her, Winifred Wiggin.

     A funeral service will be held Friday  June 8th.  at  noon  in the Morris Funeral Home  45 North Main Street, Ipswich.  Burial will follow in the New Highland Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.  Visiting hours will be Friday June 8th.  from  10:00 A.M. to noon in the funeral home, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to either:  Care Dimensions or Kaplan House  78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA  01923  or to  Lucy’s Love Bus  21 Water St., Suite 302,  Amesbury, MA  01913.  To send a condolence to the Owsiak family please go to:  MorrisFH.com .
