– Arlene A. (Scannell) Meunier, 89, of Ipswich, wife of the late Albert (Butch Miller) L. Meunier, Jr. passed away peacefully at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield on Thursday April 9, 2020.
She was born in Cambridge on December 11, 1930 to her late parents, Dennis and Martha Scannell.
Arlene was an avid Red Sox fan. While never attending a game, she made sure to watch all televised games. She also enjoyed writing letters to those that she cared about and was a word search pro.
Arlene enjoyed spending time with her family, and spent her waking moments thinking about the day ahead for each of them. She made sure to never let a day go by without checking in with her daughter Pat, and looked forward to their special trips to the Village Restaurant for her clams and scallops. She also looked forward to spending time with her great granddaughters and family. Her great granddaughters Mackenzie and Cassandra will miss “Great Grammy” tremendously, as we all will.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Albert (Butch Miller) Meunier, Jr. on March 9, 1993. Butch and Arlene were married at Saint Joseph Church, Ipswich on June 19, 1955 and made their home in Ipswich. Arlene leaves a daughter Patricia (James) Stewart of Ipswich. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchild and great grandchildren - Alexander (Mechelle) Stewart, Mackenzie and Cassandra Stewart, and grand-doggie Cocoa, in addition to her many special friends and family that made her laugh and smile.
Private graveside services will be held for family in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. In lieu of flowers at Arlene’s request - donations may be made to: the Ipswich Humane Group, P.O. Box 873, Ipswich, MA 01938.
