Benjamin Roberts passed away peacefully at his home in Ipswich on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 with his family and dog Bella by his side at the age of 91 years young.

Ben was born in Beverly on July 10, 1928. He was the son of

Benjamin H. Roberts Sr. and Edith (Ryan) Roberts both of Beverly. He worked at the Corliss Brothers, the United Shoe, was part of a team for the Manhattan project and spent much of his career as a diesel mechanic/driver

for Dyna Truck.

His passion was for his family and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the New York Giants and Boston Bruins. Ben spent many of his Sunday mornings playing football and hockey with many of his friends, sons and grandsons until his mid 80’s.

Ben was predeceased by his wife, Priscilla in 2007 and his son, Scott in 2008.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Linda Vitale and son, William Roberts, his grandchildren, Jay & Katie Vitale, Jeff & Laura Vitale, Jeff & Tara Putur, David & Melissa Vitale, Sean & Carli Roberts, Matt & Jean Marie Roberts and Andrew Roberts, his great grandchildren, Johnny, Ava, Alexis, Jacob, Camden, and Julian.

A funeral service will be held Saturday  September 21st.  at  10:30 A.M.  in the Morris Funeral Home  45 North Main Street, Ipswich.  Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery  57 Orne Street, Salem.  Visiting hours will be Friday  September 20th.  from  5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  in the funeral home, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Mr. Roberts’ name to:  Sweet Paws of Essex  P.O.
