Brian O. Abbott

Brian O. Abbott, 86, husband of the late Madeline F. (Carey) Abbott, died Sunday morning  June 25, 2023  in a local nursing home.  Born in Ipswich on  June 13, 1937  he was the son of the late Charles and Catherine (Otis) Abbott.

     Mr. Abbott was raised and educated in Ipswich, he was a graduate of Ipswich High School, Class of 1955.  He served in the Ipswich Lions Club for many years.  He enjoyed dancing, golfing and travel.  He and his wife Madeline wintered in Naples, FL for over 30 years.  He was often found on a golf course and he was an avid walker.  Mr. Abbott was a happy, friendly person who liked everyone he came in contact with.  He was predeceased by his wife on  August 3, 2013.

     Mr. Abbott is survived by his 2 daughters:   Beth Malone and her husband Timothy of  Beverly, Kimberley Banks and her husband Wayne of Rowley.  He is also survived  by his 2 grandchildren:  Matthew Malone and his wife Jocelyn of Beverly and Corey Malone of New York City and his 2 great-grandchildren:  Connor Malone and Lyla Malone.  Mr. Abbott is also survived by his brother  Charles E. Abbott of Virginia Beach as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by his sister  Sandra Duke formerly of Ipswich.

      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday  June 30, 2023  at   10:30 A.M.  at  Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church  54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich.  Burial will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.  Visiting hours will be Thursday  June 29th.  from  4:00 to 7:00 P.M.  in the Morris Funeral Home  45 North Main Street, Ipswich.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Mr. Abbott’s name to:  the Ipswich Lions Club  P.O.
