Cheryl Carter Obituary

Cheryl M. (Marquis) Carter, 61, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday  July 20, 2020.  She was the beloved wife of Jack Carter with whom she shared 8 years of marriage.

     Born in Burlington, MA on  April 28, 1959,  she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Arlene Marquis.  She was raised and educated in Burlington, MA and graduated from Burlington High School in 1977.  Cheryl had a successful career with the telephone company now known as Verizon for 28 years.  She enjoyed winters in North Ft. Myers, Florida.  Cheryl had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.  She was a wonderful storyteller who loved sharing time with her friends and family.

     In addition to her husband, Jack, she is survived by her daughter Lisa Lafreniere and her husband, Alfred of Pelham, NH, her son Keith Nicoll of Stratham, NH and his wife Erin, her step-daughter Lindsay Wilcox and her husband, Curt of NC, 3 siblings: Lawrence Marquis and his wife Leah of Merrimack, NH, Elaine Turner and her husband Paul of Westford, MA and Paul Marquis and his wife Donna of Tewksbury, MA, 9 grandchildren: Charles, Taylor, Emma, Carter, Micah, Wyatt, Eli, Cooper and Riley, several nieces and nephews and her fur baby, C.J.  She was predeceased by her sister Claire and fur baby Ziggy.

     Visitation for Cheryl will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday  July 29, 2020 at the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Ipswich, MA.  All attendees are required to:  wear face coverings, practice social distancing, and are respectfully asked for no physical contact with the family.  A funeral service will be held Thursday  July 30th.   at  10:00 A.M.  at the First Church in Ipswich  1 Meeting House Green, Ipswich, all are invited to attend.   To send a letter of condolence to Cheryl’s family please go to:  MorrisFH.com .
