Connie Markos Obituary

Constance (Pappalimberis) Markos, 89, of Ipswich, beloved wife of the late Peter J. (Curly) Markos, died peacefully on July 29, 2020 at the Anna Jacques Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

 

Born and raised in Ipswich, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Marini (Zacharakis) Pappalimberis and stepmother Marigo.  Connie was a graduate of Ipswich High School.

 

She was deeply devoted to her faith as a lifelong member of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church.  She was a member of the church philanthropic group, The Melissa Society, as well as a lifelong member of the Logganiko Society. 

 

Connie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Yiayia), sister, aunt, great-aunt and godmother.  Her family, faith and friends were the core of her life.  She was a wonderful homemaker and hostess and everyone enjoyed family gatherings at her home.  Connie regularly entertained throughout her life, making delicious food and Greek pastries that everyone raved about.  She always made sure to send plenty home with her loved ones.

 

Connie and her husband were married on February 29, 1960 and shared 44 years of marriage.She was predeceased by her husband in 2004.  Connie is survived by her two daughters, Anna-Maria and her husband James Bussing, Elena Markos, her beloved grandchildren, Ariana, Byron, Rhonni and PJ, as well as step-grandchildren, James, Kaitlyn, and Danielle along with their children.

 

She is also survived by two sisters, Stella Galanis of Ipswich and Helen Steele of Hobe Sound, Florida and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.  She was predeceased by her sisters Sophie Georgeopoulos and Olga Pappalimberis and her brothers George and Louis Pappalimberis all formerly of Ipswich. 

 

A graveside service will be held Monday  August 3, 2020  at  10:30 A.M.  in the New Highland Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich, all are welcome to attend.  Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to:  the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church  P.O.
