It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Cynthia E. Walsh on March 8th, 2024, at the age of 85. Mom was born in Salem, Massachusetts, daughter to Chester and Elizabeth McElmon and sister to Robert McElmon. Her greatest happiness came from time with her family. Her four children and nine grandchildren were her most joyous blessing.
She also enjoyed family reunions at her cousin Richard’s home in New Hampshire, and Christmas Eve with her sister-in-law and her nieces and nephews in Beverly.
During her later years, Mom enjoyed traveling and line dancing with her friends, as well as being a proud, active member of her church.
Mom (Grammy) is survived by her four children and their families. Richard (Stephanie) Walsh, Timothy Walsh (Sara Bruinooge), Cynthia (Gary) Chapman, and Jonathan (Rebecca) Walsh. Her grandchildren, Cullen, Elizabeth, and Jesse Walsh, Emily Walsh, Kyle (Kayla) Chapman, Zachary (Kristen) Chapman, and Ryan Chapman, and Riley and Avery Walsh.
We are all grateful for the support and love throughout the years. As Mom had said in her final days, “We are all a bunch of nuts, but who cares.”
Mom’s wish was to be with her family when she passed. A very special thank you to her aide, Rashidat Okeowo for taking such great care of our mom
