Donna Orsini Foote

      Donna Orsini Foote, 80, wife of Peter A. Foote, passed away Saturday morning June 29, 2024 after a short illness.  Born in Salem, MA on February 9, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Gerald E. Orsini II and Inez Cardinal Orsini, both of Ipswich.

      Donna was raised and educated in Ipswich.  She obtained her associates degree at Northern Essex Community College where she met her husband Peter.  Donna and Peter married in 1966 and they made their home in Ipswich with their devoted daughter, Gabrielle.  After working at Ipswich Savings bank as a bookkeeper, she worked for the Town of Ipswich in both the recreation and cemetery departments.

       Donna is remembered as an excellent chef and hostess in both the community and at home with her family.  She and Peter were the second couple to be married at the former Saint Joseph Church in Ipswich, now known as Our Lady of Hope Church,  in 1966 and celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2024.  Donna was devoted to her family, especially to her daughter Gabrielle and her grandchildren Cecillia and Peter.  She was a devoted Catholic.  Donna enjoyed:  cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

       Donna is survived by her husband Peter Foote, of Middleton, her daughter Gabrielle Foote, of Danvers, her grandchildren, Cecillia Elizabeth Clark, 18 and Peter Anthony Clark, 15.  She was predeceased by her brother, Gerald E. Orsini III, formerly of Swampscott and her sister Judith Lewis, formerly of Merrimack, MA

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday  July 20th.  at  10:00 A.M.  at Our Lady of Hope Church  54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  Burial will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.  There will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Donna’s name to the:  the Ipswich Police Association  15 Elm Street  Ipswich, MA  01938.  Assisting the Foote family is the Morris Funeral Home of Ipswich.  To send a letter of condolence to Donna’s family please go to:  MorrisFH.com .
