Eileen Ann Joyce, 87, died unexpectedly Saturday morning March 26, 2022 in the Beverly Hospital. Born in Attleboro, MA on December 22, 1934 she was the daughter of the late William and Doris (Foley) Augat.
Eileen was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1952. She received her Registered Nursing degree from St. Elizabeth’s Nursing School in Boston. Eileen was a former resident of Pembroke, MA where she raised her family. After Pembroke she lived in Sarasota, FL for several years before settling in Ipswich, MA. Eileen loved her career as a registered nurse, spending the last years before retirement working for Hospice. She loved knitting, fishing, reading, bowling, gardening, playing bingo, and her cat Flash. She also loved activities at the Ipswich Council on Aging and her friends there. Eileen was an outgoing, loving person. She brought laughter and smiles to everyone she met.
Eileen had five children, and was predeceased by her son David M. Joyce. She is survived by her other children: Karen A. Joyce, Linda M. Joyce of Japan, Thomas G. Joyce and his wife Christine and Edward A. Joyce and his wife Carla. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Stephanie Joyce (daughter of Thomas), Andrew Joyce (son of David), Declan Joyce (son of David), Samuel Joyce (son of Thomas), Natalie Limlaw (stepdaughter of Thomas), Jessica Joyce (daughter of Edward) and Alanna Joyce (daughter of Edward), her two great-grandchildren: Madisun Chapman (daughter of Stephanie) and Chloe Chapman (daughter of Stephanie). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Eileen was predeceased by her former husband of 22 years Gerard W. Joyce whom she met in Boston while she was attending St. Elizabeth’s Nursing school and married on February 28, 1960. She was also predeceased by her two brothers: William Augat and Donald Augat.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday April 2nd, at 1:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Friday April 1st, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers Eileen requested donations be made to support and continue the work of Hospice, which she loved so dearly.
