Elizabeth Andrews Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Andrews ( Betsy), 74, of Ipswich passed away unexpectedly at her home in Ipswich on  Monday March 4 , 2024 . Born in Beverly on  December 3, 1949  she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Dorothy MacMillan.  While born in Beverly she was raised in South Hamilton and had resided in Ipswich for the past 20 years.  Betsy was the beloved wife  of Robert Andrews, they shared 51 years of marriage.

 

In addition to her husband Robert, Betsy is survived by her daughters  Charlene and Laura and her sons Thomas, Jeffrey and Matthew.  She was predeceased by one granddaughter.  Betsy is also survived by  9 grandchildren as well  2 great- grandchildren and her much loved sister Jill DiFrancesco.

 

Betsy worked at Hogan Regional Center in Danvers for over 30 years, where she ended her career as a division supervisor dedicating herself to those with developmental disabilities.  Betsy’s interests included quilting for the Angel Quilt project:  sewing hundreds of handmade quilts supporting premature infants in hospitals.  Her other interests included:  gardening , spending time with grandchildren, traveling with her husband, as well as giving a loving, safe home to shelter cats.

 

Private services will be held in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.
