Frank Livas, Jr. Obituary

93 exceptional journeys around the sun, Frank J. Livas Jr.'s transition into eternal life was peaceful on April 14th, 2020.

Mr. Livas was born in Wakefield, MA on April 29, 1926 and was the son of the late Frank and Adah (Clark) Livas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joan (DeSantis) Livas and his two children, Frank P. Livas and Susan Mercurio along with her husband Joe. As well as four grandchildren, Peter Livas, Kris Mercurio, Noelle Albert, and Joseph Mercurio. Two great grandchildren, Brady Livas and Theadora Albert. He was predeceased by a sister Joan Watson and a brother Basil Livas and is survived by his brother, Roger Livas of Maryland.

Frank enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1944 after graduating from Wakefield High School and was honorably discharged in Nov. 1945.

In 1965 he co-founded Brake & Clutch, Inc in Salem, MA a distributor of truck equipment and snow plows. He retired in 2011.

A masterful communicator, devouring books and reciting poems, Frank would effortlessly captivate a room with his soft spoken stories.

You could catch him on the beaches of Sanibel Island, looking for the elusive junonia. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved baseball, cribbage games and fly fishing. He truly brought a smile to everyone he met with his quick wit, playful presence,  kind and compassionate spirit.

The brightest mind was Frank’s.

His huge heart and brain banks

Brought wordplay and puns,

Each day a home run,

Now our hearts join together, in thanks.
