Fredrick G. Dowalo, 82, died Wednesday February 10, 2021 in the
Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. Born in George, NC on October 3, 1938
he was the son of the late Andrew and Nellie (Boyce) Dowalo.
Due to his father’s career in the United States Air Force Frederick grew
up in several different places in the world. He loved sailing and was an
accomplished boat builder. He was a bench chemist at Polaroid in Cambridge
for around 20 years. After his retirement from Polaroid he built several
Mr Dowalo is survived by his daughter Linda Dowalo of Gloucester and
his son Thomas Maloney of Ipswich. He was the eldest of 5 children, he is
survived by his sisters June Shiermeyer of West End, NC and Deborah
Roycroft of Elizabeth City, NC, he was predeceased by his brothers John
Dowalo formerly of Black Foot, ID and Steven Dowalo. Mr. Dowalo is also
survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday February 20th. at 11 :00 A.M.
in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich. Due to the
pandemic those who attend the service must : wear a face covering, practice
social distancing and all must not come in physical contact with the family. In
