Helen (Zadeh) (Pappas) Pilioglos, 100, was born on July 28, 1923 in Ipswich where she lived with her family until she was five. Looking for work, her parents moved the family to Boston where she lived until she graduated from high school.
When she married she moved to Somerville, took the Civil Service Exam, passed and worked the next 42 years as the principle payroll clerk for the City of Somerville.
After retiring, she and her husband George moved to Weymouth. George on guitar and Helen singing, they joined: The Belles & Beaux, The Opels, and The Whipple Snappers groups. They entertained at assisted living and nursing homes on the South Shore.
Helen is predeceased by three brothers: Al Zadeh, Sam Zadeh and Bart Zadeh.
She leaves behind her daughter Karen Pishkin of Abington, her grandson Kevin Pishkin of Whitman and her two great-grandchildren: Brandon and Mercedes. Also, many nieces and nephews. A close and special nephew Mark Zadeh and his wife Bernie and a close friend Shirley Mackenzie.
A funeral service will be held Thursday July 11, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church 8 Lafayette Road, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will follow in the New Highland Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. A hour of visitation will be Thursday July 11th. from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich.
