James Nikitas Obituary

James N. Nikitas, 78, husband of Bernadette F. (Saroka) Nikitas, died peacefully Monday afternoon November 22, 2021surrounded by his family after a long illness.  Born in Lynn on August 21,1943 he was the son of the late Nick and Sophie (Kollinites) Nikitas.

Mr. Nikitas was raised and educated in Lynn.  He served his country as a member of the National Guard during the 1960’s.  James was employed at the Delta Electronics Manufacturing Corp. in Beverly where he worked for over 40 years. Jim was an avid golfer and loved the sport so much, he started a side business repairing and building golf clubs for his friends.  He also enjoyed bowling during the winter months.  Jim could be considered the family historian, no matter the event, Jim was always there with his camera in hand.  The family has a large collection of photographs to look through and reminisce. Mr. Nikitas was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  As a father, he excelled.  “Dad” always made time for his sons, whether it was going fishing, teaching them proper values, attending sporting events, or just having a beer, he was always there. Jim or Dziedzie as he was called, had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.  He was always, laughing, joking and playing games with them every chance he could.  Dziedzie and his huge heart made a lasting impression on each one of them, family gatherings will not be the same without his infectious spirit.

In addition to his wife Bernadette of Ipswich he is survived by his 2 sons and their wives:  Michael and Maureen Nikitas of Maine, Brian and Theresa Nikitas of Michigan.  He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren:  Mary Nikitas, Jacob Nikitas, Alexandra Nikitas and Ana Nikitas, his brother Christopher Nikitas of Danvers, his sister Diane Delaney and several nieces and nephews.
