Jay Parent Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jay Victor Parent (68), a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left us unexpectedly on December 3rd 2024.

Son of Victor Parent and Sonia Parent, he was born May 31st 1956 in Worcester, MA alongside his twin sister Sandy Hennessy. He grew up there graduating from Burncoat High School in 1974. After graduation he entered the Coast Guard, serving proudly from 1974 to 1978. Upon ending his service, he moved to Malden Ma. It was at this time that he met the love of his life, Saesha. They were married in 1985 and were by each other’s sides through all of life's ups and downs. They moved to Ipswich, MA in 1986 where they set down roots and started a family, raising three children, Danielle, Jon Jay and Emily.

Jay worked hard to provide the best life he could for his family, working for Samia Real Estate Company for nearly 40 years. Where his exceptional ability to recall details and information with incredible accuracy served him well. Coupled with his outgoing personality and friendly demeanor, Jay greeted everyone he met with open arms and was quick with a joke or interesting fact to start a conversation. There was not a single person he met that he didn’t befriend. He retired from Samia in 2019. And began what became his favorite job, being the best Grandfather to his two granddaughters who brought him so much joy and happiness.

Throughout the years, Jay enjoyed being by the ocean where you could often find him boating, clamming or scuba diving. He shared his love of the ocean with his family where they spent many days together making memories. In his later years, he spent his time enjoying his lakehouse in NH. Jay's kindness and compassion also shone brightly in his love of animals. He was a true animal lover who homed and rescued many animals during his lifetime. He was an avid gardener taking great care and pride in his garden with knowledge about different species of plants. He loved music of all kinds. Together, he and Saesha enjoyed many concerts. His creativity was abundant in everything he did. Jay had a strong commitment and deep love for his family and loved ones. He was one of a kind, in the best way, and the light he brought into everyone's lives will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife Saesha Parent (Dudman) of Ipswich. His three children: Danielle Tallasken and her husband Tucker of Boxford, Jon Jay Parent of Ipswich, Emily Hendrickson and her husband Randy of Ipswich, his two grandchildren Hannah and Brooke Tallaksen, his sister Sandy Hennessy of Rindge, NH, his nephew Caleb Hennessy of Rindge, NH, as well as many other family and friends.
