John E. Langmaid

John E. Langmaid, 74, husband of Suzanne T. (Dionne) Langmaid, died Monday morning  August 26, 2019  in his home after an arduous illness.  Born in Ipswich on  April 19, 1945  he was the son of the late S. Ervin and Mary (Barton) Langmaid.

     John attended primary school in Ipswich and later he attended and was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Newburyport.  He would later attend Wentworth Institute in Boston for a few years and after attended Salem Commercial School.  John worked for several area A&P Supermarket Stores.  Later he was employed at American Science and Engineering in Boston.  He retired as a self-employed accountant.  John was a devoted grandfather spending a lot of time coaching his grandsons in Little League.

     John is survived by, in addition to his wife Suzanne of Hampton Falls, their 2 children:  daughter Lauren Langmaid and her partner Ming Lin of Georgetown, son  John S. Langmaid of Ipswich, 3 grandchildren:  Carl “C.J.” Swenson, Derick Swenson and Twylah Langmaid.  He is also survived by his 4 sisters and their husbands:  Jeanne and James Engel, Ann and Michael Nolan, Jane and Stephen Ward, and Sheila Langmaid, 3 sisters-in-law and their husbands:  Constance and Joseph Marfongelli, Claudette Madore, Elaine and James Andrus, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday  August 29th.  at  9:00 A.M.  at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church  54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich.  Burial will follow in the New Highland Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.  Visiting hours will be Wednesday  August 28th.  from  5:00 to 8:00 P.M.  in the Morris Funeral Home  45 North Main Street, Ipswich.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in John’s name to:  the American Cancer Society of Massachusetts  30 Speen Street  Framingham, MA  01701.  To send a condolence to the Langmaid family please go to:  MorrisFH.com .
