Julia Steele Obituary

Julia (Lynch) Steele, 93, of Everett and Revere, passed away on August 1, 2022 in the Katzman Family Center.  She was the wife of the late Matthew J. Steele, Sr.

 

Julie was born in Tewksbury on May 23, 1929. She had worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Civil Service Commission, as an Administrative Assistant for many years until her retirement. She was a fitness enthusiast, enjoyed yoga, swimming, and walking 3 to 5 miles a day, especially at Revere Beach whenever possible, even into her 90’s.  Julie will be remembered by most for her positive outlook on life and any situation, quick wit and sense of humor, and most of all, the love of her family.

 

Julie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew J. Steele, Jr. and Paula Steele Brancato of Ipswich, her daughter Jennifer Steele of Rome, NY, her grandchildren, Matthew J. Steele III of Danvers and Sheri B. Curley and her husband John of Rowley and great grandchildren Jack and Mike.  Julie was predeceased by her daughter Karen Thomsen.  Also survived by   special nieces, several grand and great nieces and nephews.

 

A celebration of Julie’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org or Lupus Foundation of America, lupus.org,   Arrangements made by Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Street, Ipswich.  Online condolences may be made at www.MorrisFH.com.
