Kathy Christopher, 68, of Ipswich passed away on November 28th, 2024.
She was born on March 14th, 1956 to Anthony and Florence (Alexopoulos) Christopher.
Kathy was a lifelong resident of Ipswich. She was born at Cable Hospital, and was a
graduate of the Ipswich High class of 1974.
Although Kathy was an only child, she grew up in a home that was most always filled
with many family members - aunts, uncles, and some of her cousins. And they didn’t
just visit for an hour or so, many of them were there for the whole day, some even
stayed for supper, and some (like Diane) stayed overnight. And because of this,
Kathy’s childhood was not lonely, even though she had no siblings, she was always
surrounded by lots of family.
Kathy loved to cook for many years. She enjoyed cooking Greek food, as it reminded
her of the food that she grew up with cooked by her mother
.
She had love and compassion for animals her whole life. She was never without a
loving dog or cat, and even had 2 or 3 of them at times.
Kathy worked in banking for over 20 years in Boston and Andover. Later in life, she
worked at Home Depot and Marshall’s.
Kathy also enjoyed her many years of being a cheerleading coach for the Tigers Youth
Football League. She loved being a coach, and formed friendships with some of the
kids for many years.
She is survived by cousins - Linda, Diane, Jane, Tony, Christopher, Jill, Christine,
Michael, and Amy. And she also leaves some wonderful lifelong friends.
And special thanks and gratitude to her friend Linda Mills. Linda was like a sister to
Kathy, and was a loving devoted friend for 50 years.
Kathy - you will be missed.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 6th at 12:00 noon in the Cowles
Memorial Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Rd, Ipswich. (Veterans section of cemetery)
