Lillian Colburn Obituary

Lillian G. Colburn, 85, wife of Stanley W. Colburn, died Thursday morning  December 3, 2020  in the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield after a brief illness.  Born in Ipswich on  November 11, 1935  she was the daughter of the late Harold S. and Margaret M. (MacLean) Higgins.

     Mrs. Colburn was a life-long resident of Ipswich.  She was a graduate of Ipswich High School.  She was employed at the former Sylvania in Ipswich for several years.  Later she was employed at Castle Hill, also in Ipswich.  Mrs. Colburn was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Ipswich.  She loved knitting, watching classic movies and spending time with her family.  She also spent many years caring for her beloved grandchildren.

          In addition to her husband Stanley of Ipswich, Mrs. Colburn is survived by her 2 daughters:  Karen Brigham and her husband David of Georgetown and Kathryn Reebenacker and her husband Steven of Beverly.  She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren:  Ashley Gasinowski and her husband Dean, Stephen Brigham and his wife Mae, Meghan Brigham, Laura, Amy and Alex Reebenacker, and her great-granddaughter  Amelia Gasinowski.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Colburn was predeceased by her brother  Angus Higgins formerly of Ipswich and her sister  Elizabeth Ogden formerly of Peabody.

          A private graveside service will be held in the New Highland Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.  There will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mrs. Colburn’s name to:  the Ipswich Humane Group (Animal Shelter)  P.O.
