M. Joan "Joanie" Wilson

Mary Joan “Joanie” Wilson, 85, passed away peacefully early Monday morning June 3, 2024 surrounded by family after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She has been reunited with her beloved sons Eric Wilson and Richard “Ricky” Wilson, and siblings Thomas “Vinny” Joyce, Philip Joyce and Nancy Fitzgerald.

Joanie is survived by her daughter Lisa Galanis and husband John “Bubba” Galanis, Grandchildren Demi Barrett and husband Bill Barrett, Eric Galanis and wife Katie Galanis, son Christopher Wilson and wife Kelly Wilson, Grandchildren Logan, Molly and Hannah Wilson. Great Grandchildren John “Jack" Barrett, Delilah Barrett and Louis Galanis. She was also the dearly loved sister of Gloria Joyce, Paul Joyce and Richard Joyce and many nieces and nephews. 

Joanie will forever be remembered for her quick wit, Irish pride and love for a good bargain. She loved spending time with her family, going to the beach and anything sweet, especially her famous Bavarian.

A graveside service will be held Thursday June 6, 2024  at 11:00 A.M.  in the New Highland Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Joanie's son's memory, Eric Wilson, to the March of Dimes at marchofdimes.com.

The family has requested that all who will be attending the graveside service to wear something pink as pink was Joanie's favorite color.
