Marion Andrews Obituary

Marion J. Andrews, passed away Sunday morning  April 22, 2018  at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with illness and went home to be with the Lord.  She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Irving E. Andrews.  Marion was born on  May 15, 1945  in East Orange, NJ to the late John P. and Ruth E. Godley.

Marion was raised in East Orange, NJ and graduated from Scott High School.  She was employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. of NJ where she met and married Irving on  July 11, 1964.  After several years, they moved to Ipswich where the family has lived for 51 years.  She attended night school for nursing.  Over the years Marion had several jobs in Ipswich.  When Dr. Goolsby opened his dental practice in Ipswich she was hired as a dental assistant, as time went on she would be the Office Manager.  Having worked there for 10 years she got to know and become dear friends with patients and staff.  Once retired Marion spent many years both raising 3 children and taking care of her grandchildren, those activities she reveled in.  Her love of children brought her to many years of teaching Sunday school at St. Joseph Church, now known as Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Ipswich.  Her love for family and friends was exceptionally unconditional.

Marion is survived by, in addition to her husband Irving, three sisters:  Amy Prezziosi and her husband Gene of North Carolina, Joan G. Foster of Madison, NJ, Janis Forster and her husband Ed of Antrim, NH.  She is also survived by two daughters – Lisa Marie Teed and her husband Michael of Endwell, NY, and Janis Elayne Goguen and her husband James of Ipswich, her daughter-in-law  Maureen Andrews and her companion James Richards of Salisbury.  She also leaves behind her 8 grandchildren:  Dominick and Nicole Dirado of Endwell, NY, Justin Goguen of Ipswich, Jocelyn Rennick and her husband Robert of Salisbury, Michael Irving Andrews of Plymouth, and her great-grandchildren:  Sam, Ben and Maggie Rennick.  Also, many nieces and nephews.  Marion was predeceased by her son, the late Michael John Andrews.

Some of Marion’s interests were being a member of  both The Garden Club and the Knitting Club of Ipswich.  She enjoyed reading novels, daily reading of the Bible, cross word puzzles, long walks on Crane beach and walks through the state park as well as riding her bicycle.  Marion was a member of the YMCA with her close friends.  She cherished caring for her grandchildren, she enjoyed dancing and singing with them.  She will be remembered for her quick wit, amazing grace, her warm loving smile and always a warm hug.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  Thursday  April 26th. at  9:00 A.M.  at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church  54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich.  Burial will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.  Visiting hours will be Wednesday  April 25th.   from  5:00 to 8:00 P.M.  in the Morris Funeral Home  45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  In lieu of flowers please make a gift of remembrance in her name to:  Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church  1 Pineswamp Road  Ipswich, MA  01938.  To send a condolence to the Andrews
