Marla K. Rousseau, 67, died peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody, MA, from the long term effects of a brain tumor.
Born in Mishawaka, IN on June 21, 1955, Marla was the daughter of the late Tom and Patricia McGriffin. She attended both Indiana and Boston University. While she grew up in Indiana, the North Shore was her home. After bouncing around towns, she became a permanent resident of Ipswich, MA in 1992. As such she was a diehard Red Sox and Patriots fan.
In both her personal and professional life Marla worked with unwavering dedication. Whether it was raising her two sons, Justin and Charles, participating in the Ipswich football boosters, being a member of a local candlepin bowling league or her ten plus years of employment at Dalton Electric. In her spare time, she loved going to both Crane and Pavilion beach. Toward the later stages of her life she was blessed to have the constant company of the family’s Frengle, Tuukka, always by her side.
Marla was the rock of the family and will be terribly missed. She is survived by her son Charles Rousseau Jr of Ipswich, MA, son Justin Benzer and his wife Suzannah Creech of Austin, TX, grandchildren Clara and Arlo Creech-Benzer, as well as her brothers Rick and Steve McGriffin. She is pre-deceased by her parents Tom and Patricia McGriffin as well as her brother Mike McGriffin.
All services will be held privately to immediate family only. Memorial donations may be made in Marla’s name to the American Brain Tumor Association at www.abta.org. Assisting the family is the Morris Funeral Home of Ipswich. To send a letter of condolence to Marla's family please go to: MorrisFH.com .
