Mary Bobola Doody Obituary

Mary Bobola Doody was born on  September 16, 1934  in Ipswich  to parents Joseph and Elizabeth Bobola,  passed away on Thursday  July 30, 2026  at Beverly Hospital.


     Mary was the mother of Patricia Smith and her husband David of Gloucester, Joseph French of Peabody, Pamela Thompson and her husband Paul of Groveland, stepson Steve Doody and his wife Beverly of Levant, Maine, stepdaughter Debbie Drost and her husband John of Washburn, Maine.  She is also survived by sisters  Alice Stasiuk of Ipswich, Bettyann Prentiss of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, also a healthcare provider Marie Torres whom she loved.


      Mary worked as a bookkeeper in many banks right out of high school.  Mary loved her travels around the world with her sister Alice.  Mary was a die hard Red Sox fan as well as the Patriots.  Mary enjoyed line dancing through the years, she also enjoyed playing bingo and mahjong with her Apple Village friends whom she loved dearly.


      Mary was predeceased by her husband Steward, sons Albert and Paul French, daughter Dianne Phillips, parents Joseph and Elizabeth Bobola, sister Eileen Prescott, brothers-in-law Joseph Stasiuk, Jim Prentiss and Paul Prescott.
