Mary C. (Costopulos) Jackson, 102, wife of the late Walter T. Jackson, died Saturday morning March 20, 2021 in the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport after a brief illness. Born in Ipswich on July 12, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Constantinos D. and Bessie (Christopher) Costopulos.
Mary's family meant everything to her. She lived through the depression and left school at the age of fifteen to help support her family. During WWII, while her brothers were in the army, Mary became active in the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
When Mary married Walt she moved to Newburyport and she loved Plum Island beach. Walt was a jazz player and had his own band. Mary loved to go to Walt's "gigs".
