Michael W. Downer

Michael W. Downer, 59, died Thursday  December 20, 2018  in the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a sudden illness.  Born in Amesbury on  April 1, 1959  he was the son of the late Walter and Patricia (MacDonald) Downer.  Michael was the husband of the late Joyce A. (Perusse) Downer who predeceased him on  December 18, 2010.

     Michael grew up in Newburyport.  He was married to his wife Joyce for 22 years until her passing.  During their marriage Michael and Joyce lived in Ipswich. 

     Michael is survived by his 2 daughters:  Courtney Downer and her companion Andrew Munroe of Epping, NH and Nicole Downer of Ipswich.

     A funeral service will be held Saturday  January 12th.  at  1:00 P.M.  in the Byfield Parish Church.  132 Jackman Street  Georgetown, MA  01833.    Visiting hours will be Friday  January 11th.  from  4:00 to 8:00 P.M.  in the Church, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  Assisting the Downer family is the Morris Funeral Home of Ipswich.  To send a condolence to the family please go to:  MorrisFH.com .
