On November 4, 2023, Michael Jensen, 53, lost his battle with cancer surrounded by family at his home. Mike was a long-time resident of Ipswich, only leaving for 8 years to live in Wisconsin. He was last employed by Freedom Fertility in Byfield and spent many years working at Eastern Propane in Danvers. Mike graduated from Ipswich High School in 1988 and was best known as Jens. He loved playing hockey and baseball and was an avid sports fan. His absolute favorite team since he was five years old was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved the ocean and could often be found at Pavilion beach. He liked to garden, collect sports memorabilia, watch every sports game on TV and banter with anyone who wasn’t a Steelers fan.
Jens will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for a good time and his love for family and friends.
He is pre-deceased by his father, Chuck Jensen. He is survived by his mother Barbara Jensen, his sister Heather Monti and her husband Keith, nephew Dylan, and nieces Myriah and Savannah Monti, his “2nd sister” cousin Jennifer Jensen Fox and her daughter Livia and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 24th from 5-8 in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Ipswich. A funeral will take place Saturday, November 25th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Hope, 1 Pineswamp Rd., Ipswich.
