Mihai Mirica

It is with great sadness that the family of Mihai Mirica announces his passing in New England, where he spent his later years surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Romania, Mihai graduated from Transylvania University in Brașov with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Over a long and successful career, he held several leadership positions with URB, Romania’s national ball bearing company, where he was widely admired for his intellect, precision, and sense of fairness. His colleagues remember him as a principled leader who inspired respect and loyalty.

Following his retirement, Mihai and his wife, Ileana, immigrated to the United States to be closer to their son and his family. They settled in Ipswich, Massachusetts, where Mihai embraced the quiet rhythms of New England life. He found joy in time spent with family, long walks at Crane beach, thoughtful conversation, and the simple beauty of everyday moments.

Mihai was a man of deep integrity, humility, and kindness — qualities that defined every aspect of his life. He was a devoted husband to Ileana, a loving father, and a proud grandfather whose presence brought warmth and steadiness to his family. His wisdom, humor, and unwavering love will remain forever in their hearts.

Mihai will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will be laid to rest in Ipswich, MA — the town he came to call home.
