Ipswich – Nancy, 94, wife of the late Clarence C. Costopulos, passed away Monday May 27, 2019. She was born on October 22, 1924 in Silver End, Essex, England.
She married Clarence, an Army soldier during WWII and came to America as a war bride after the war ended. Nancy remarried Clarence in the Greek Orthodox Church and later in life became a nationalized citizen. Nancy and Clarence lived in Ipswich for the rest of their lives and Nancy’s first job was at Sylvania in Ipswich. She ended her working career at Empire Clothing Store. She worked there until it closed and then she retired. Her husband predeceased her on November 14, 1993.
Nancy is survived by her three sons: David and his wife Donna, Harold, James and his wife Karen and one daughter Connie Mattaroccia and three grandchildren: Justin Mattaroccia-Copp, Jonathan Mattaroccia and Cheryl Ann Brennen.
A funeral service will be held Saturday June 1st. at 10:00 A.M. at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church 8 Lafayette Road, Ipswich. Burial will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Friday May 31st. from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
