Paul Lampropoulos Obituary

Paul “Red” Lampropoulos, 92, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 19th, at his home in Ipswich surrounded by his loving family.

The second youngest of 13 children, Red was born in Ipswich on Oct. 3, 1928 to Charles and Constantina (Maniates) Lampropoulos. A lifelong resident of Ipswich, he couldn’t understand why anyone would ever want to leave town, even for a vacation. You could always find him fishing on his boat in Ipswich Bay or hunting the marshes of his beautiful home town.

A skilled craftsman and owner of Lampson Floor and Wall, Red worked on many of the homes and businesses around town. As a father, he found great joy in watching his daughter, Anastasia, compete in many horse shows as a young woman. He found pride in watching her grow and build a family of her own. After the sudden death of his brother, Red became like a second father to his many beloved nieces and nephews.

Red spent the later years of his life dedicated to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His friends could always find him parked down by the wharf, greeting the fishermen and clammers with his dog at his side.

Red leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Katherine; his daughter Anastasia Knudsen and her husband Peter, all of Ipswich; his grandchildren Kaleigh Daigle and her husband Matthew of North Reading , Alexander Knudsen and his wife Amanda of Amesbury, and Paige Mroue and her husband Nader of Burlington, his 3 great grandchildren Peter and Abram Daigle and Noa Knudsen; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by 2 siblings  Charles and Eleanor.

Services will be held privately at the Morris Funeral Home of Ipswich.  Burial will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich.  There will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish could make a memorial donation to:  Friends of the Ipswich Elderly  25 Green Street  Ipswich, MA  01938.  To send a letter of condolence to the Lampropoulos family please go to:  MorrisFH.com .
