– It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter A. Prescott, who departed his life peacefully on Thursday  April 9, 2026, at the age of 80.  Peter was born on  August 31, 1945  in Salem, MA to Steve and Mary (Gwodz) Prescott.

     Peter was a dedicated husband and best friend to Marion (Barney) Prescott, his loving wife of 56 years.  He was a devoted father and father-in-law to:  Melissa Prescott-Gagnon and Chris Gagnon of Rowley, Damian and Jill Prescott of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Andrew and Kristen Prescott of Ipswich.  He was a proud grandfather to:  Molly and Reilly Gagnon, Avery and Vance Prescott and Wesley, Leyton and Colin Prescott.  Peter is also survived by one great grandson  Rudy.  Peter had many friends that he loved and cherished.

     Peter’s happiest times were spent with his family.  He enjoyed boating, skiing, playing pool, reading, working outside in his yard and driving around in his yellow mustang.

     Peter’s kindness, generosity and love for his family and friends will never be forgotten.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday  April 16, 2026  at  10:00 A.M.  in the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church  54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich.  Burial will follow in the New Highland Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.  Visiting hours will be Wednesday  April 15th.  from  5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  in the Morris Funeral Home  45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  To send a letter of condolence to the Prescott family please go to:  MorrisFH.com .
