Ralph George DeSilva of Ipswich, MA, formerly of Tewksbury, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease on Monday July 17th, 2023.
Ralph was the son of George and Rachel DeSilva, born in Lowell, MA on March 1, 1949. He was raised in Tewksbury, MA, graduating from Tewksbury High School. He grew up summering on Great Neck; he moved there permanently in 1973. After receiving an associates degree in business Ralph began his career at Lowell Electric as a lineman and stayed with the company until his retirement from National Grid.
He is survived by his partner, Patricia Ford and his two daughters, Adriene Mansell and her husband Joseph and Katherine DeSilva. Ralph has three grandchildren, Gavin and Parker Mansell and Zetta Carlin.
Ralph is also survived by his niece and nephew and their spouses and children. Ralph was predeceased by his sister Kathy Hogan of Franklin NH.
Ralph was a car collector, avid boater and loved the beach. In his free time he loved working on anything that went fast. He was extremely handy and did all of his own home improvement projects until Parkinson made it impractical.
Visiting hours will be Friday, July 28 at Morris Funeral Home, 45 N. Main Street, Ipswich, MA from 6pm-8pm. A graveside memorial service will be held at Tewksbury Cemetery on Saturday, July 29th at 10:00 am. 172 East St, Tewksbury, MA 01876
