Richard Francis Wysocki, age 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026 surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness.
Born on September 23, 1953, at Cable Hospital in Ipswich, Richie spent his entire life in the town he loved, where he raised his family and became a familiar and beloved member of the community. Over the years, he proudly owned several small businesses, including Ipswich Ice Cream and DJ’s Variety, where his warm personality and quick wit made lasting impressions on so many.
Richie leaves behind his beloved wife, Patti Wysocki of Ipswich; his devoted daughter, Courtney (Wysocki) Meehan, and her husband Jonathan Meehan of Scituate; his cherished grandson, Beau Meehan also of Scituate; his cousin Tommy Dudek of Ipswich; his third brother Benjie Gorniewicz of Ipswich; and his loving mother, Jennie Wysocki of Ipswich.
He was predeceased by his father, Francis Wysocki; his brother, Mike Wysocki; and his beloved daughter, Jennifer Wysocki.
Richie was truly one of a kind, with a sense of humor that could light up any room and keep everyone around him laughing. He treasured the memories he made with his daughters, Jennifer and Courtney, from road trips along the East Coast to their cherished annual road trips to Florida. Above all else, Richie loved deeply — his family, his friends, and the simple joy of being surrounded by the people who mattered most to him.
To Richie, friends were family, and time spent together was what he valued most in life. He will be remembered for his quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor, his big heart, his deep love for family and friends, and his special gift for bringing laughter and joy to everyone around him.
An hour of visitation will be held at the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich on Thursday, May 28, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. followed by a committal service at the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House at 78 Liberty Street in Danvers, MA 01923.
Richie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
