Roberta A. Tyack (Crowley) of Hamilton, beloved wife of Bill Tyack, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She fought cancer with enormous bravery, courage and strength since her diagnosis in December 2019.
Born in Beverly June 15, 1958 to the late Gloria M. Story (Rieker) and Cornelius F. Crowley, and loving stepdaughter to the late Edwin P. Story. She was a 1976 graduate from Gloucester High School. Roberta was employed by Lewis’ restaurant in Essex for 17 years, and later the Weathervane Tavern and Wenham Tea House. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 194 in Hamilton and enjoyed volunteering her time.
Roberta enjoyed spending summers at her home on Frye Island, Maine. She and Bill loved weekends at the camp with their friends, children, and grandchildren. There was no better enjoyment for her than a day at the beach with her grandchildren swimming in the lake, golf cart rides, and tending to her flowers.
She is survived by her husband Bill Tyack, daughter Mary Morrow and her husband Daniel of Ipswich, her stepchildren Alissa Julien and husband Dean, Shane Tyack and wife Madelyn, Devan Hall and husband Austin, and daughter in law Kelly Mahoney. Her adored grandchildren Jack, Sophia, Addeline, Harper, and Sawyer. Her sisters Alicia Piscitello and Kendra Story, and brother Lyndon Story as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her older brother Thomas Story and stepson Joel Tyack.
She had a magnetic personality, was incredibly kind, and had a special way of making everyone around her feel loved. A true light in the world who will continue to shine bright in the lives of those who knew her.
A special debt of gratitude to her daughter in law Madelyn “Maddy” Tyack, who graciously devoted her time, comfort, and medical expertise in her last week. We are forever grateful.
