Scott W. Camacho, 68, died Sunday afternoon May 14, 2023 in the V.A. Medical Center in Bedford after a long battle with A.L.S. Born in Ipswich on June 24, 1954 he was the son of the late Joel and Alice (Langes) Camacho.
After graduating from high school Scott served in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, he was honorably discharged in 1977. He was a long time clam digger and was very passionate about being a clammer. Scott was an outdoorsman, he loved camping and hiking, he had hiked the majority of the Applachian Trail. He enjoyed listening to music and watching his Westerns. Scott loved his family and was very involved with them.
Scott is survived by his 3 children: Melissa Camacho, Sarah Camacho and her fiancée Chris Whipple, Joel Camacho and his wife Kelli-Ann, his 6 grandchildren: James, Justin and Jason, Kylee, Ella and Aubrey, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers: Rick Camacho and Jeff Camacho, his sister Sandra Torento and several nieces and nephews. Scott was also predeceased by two brothers: Greg Camacho and Michael Camacho.
A funeral service will be held Monday May 22nd. at 11:00 A.M. at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church 8 Lafayette Road, Ipswich. Burial will follow with military honors in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Sunday May 21st. from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
