Sophocles "Soph" Carinos

Sophocles “Soph” Carinos passed away peacefully at home on Thursday  July 11, 2024 after a courageous 16 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born on September 21, 1951 to Emanuel and Catherine (Angelos) Carinos.  Soph grew up in Beverly, MA, graduating from Beverly High School in 1969.  He was a 1973 graduate of Dartmouth College.  He maintained close friendships with several childhood and college friends throughout his life.

Soph retired in 2015, having worked at the Ipswich Shellfish Company for 40 years as an Operations Manager.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ellen (Pappas) Carinos, his daughter Alexandra Burk and her husband Ian, and his granddaughter Evangeline whom he adored.  He was also looking forward to the birth of his grandson in October.
