Stanley "Stan" Joseph Wegryn, Jr. Obituary

Stanley “Stan” Joseph Wegryn Jr., 81, passed away on April 29, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Stanley was born in Bridgeport, CT and was the son of Stanley and Esther Wegryn. He grew up in Westport, CT. He spent time in New York City as a professional musician and lived in several Boston area communities before making his way to Ipswich, MA, where he started a family and made it his beloved home for the last 50 years.

Stanley was a self-employed mechanic and owner of Loch Ness Auto Electric in Ipswich. He also held skilled positions working with cars, machinery and computers. He spent the later part of his career restoring award-winning classic cars.

Stanley had a love for music, especially blues and rock n’ roll. He played bass guitar in different bands throughout his life. He met many life-long friends through his shared appreciation for music and cars. He also enjoyed the outdoors and would often be seen biking through town and the local nature reserves. He liked creating, building, fixing and collecting things that sparked his interest. He was known for his gentle yet honest nature and bright blue eyes. He will be dearly missed by his family and those who knew him.

Stanley is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Monica and Derrick Hauenstein, of Ipswich, MA; and Jocelyn and Rob Hussey, of Danvers, MA; in addition to his long-time partner, Jeanne Kelley. He was beloved “Grampy” to his five granddaughters, Hanna, Emily, Faith, Julianna and Aubrey. He also leaves behind loved ones that came into his life along the way who he considered family.

He is predeceased by his parents, Stanley Wegryn and Esther Beaudin Wegryn; and his sister, Barbara Scott, formerly of Connecticut.

Relatives, friends and family friends are welcome to come by and celebrate Stanley’s life at the Hart House in Ipswich on Saturday, May 16th from 5:45PM to 7:45PM. Burial will be private.
