Teresa (Crosti) Pickul

Teresa (Crosti) Pickul, 94, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, surrounded by her adoring children here on earth and by the love of her two sons who surely greeted her in heaven. Teresa was the loving wife of the late Stephen Pickul with whom she shared nearly sixty-four years of marriage. Born and raised in Bagnoli, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Buccalossi) Crosti.

Teresa met her husband, an American soldier, during World War II and moved with him to Ipswich, Massachusetts in 1946 where together they raised their six children. She was employed for many years at Sylvania Electric in Ipswich and later at Varian Semiconductor in Beverly. Teresa was a woman of many talents that included cooking the best Italian and Polish food, knitting, sewing, needlepoint, rug hooking, and canning and freezing vegetables from the family garden. Most of all, she dedicated her life to giving her children opportunities that she herself did not have as a child growing up during the war. In her later years, nothing gave Teresa more joy than spending time with her family.

Teresa is survived by her children Joseph Pickul and his wife Jill Mundy, Joanne Harder and her husband Paul, Jeffrey Pickul and his partner Paul Beach, Patricia Dupray and her husband Donald, and her daughters-in-law Mary Ellen St. George and Kimberly Pickul. Teresa was a loving Grammy to her adoring grandchildren  Dr. Adam and Bryn Harder, Sarah St. George, Brittany Pickul, Christopher, Caitlin, and Drew Pickul, Donald and Westley Dupray, and a beloved Nonna to her great-grandchildren Ethan, Elsa, Cecily, Madelyn, Ruby Teresa, and Layla Harder, Shane, Shaun, and Sloan Dupray, Sylvia Pickul, and Tait Lekas Pickul. Teresa also leaves many nieces and nephews who adored her. Teresa was predeceased by her sons Stephen Pickul, Jr. and Dr. David Pickul, her grandson Timothy Pickul and her sisters Ida, Agnese, and Piera. 

Teresa’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 13 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Hope Church  54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich.  Burial will be private. Visiting hours will take place on Tuesday, October 12, from 6-8 PM in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Ipswich.
