Theodore Parady Obituary

The family of Theodore (Ted) Parady announce his passing after a period of declining health.  Born in Gloucester, Ted was the son of Theodore and Sarah (Hakala) Parady.  He was raised and educated in Rockport, MA.

          An honorably discharged veteran, Ted proudly served his country in Korea as a member of the United States Army at the conclusion of the war.  Ted spent his entire working career employed by G.E. Aviation.  He began as an Apprentice Machinist and ended his career as Manager of Manufacturing Engineering.  Prior to retirement, Ted accepted an assignment that saw him return to Korea for several years as a Co-Production Liason with what is now known as Hanwha Aerospace.

           Ted was a longtime resident of Ipswich, where he raised his family with Patricia A. Parady.  Patricia predeceased her husband on  June 10, 2016.

           Ted was active in the community.  He was a member of the Ipswich All Sports Boosters, he was a Scoutmaster of  Boy Scout Troop 109.  He was President of the Rockport American Legion Band, he was a volunteer driver for the Ipswich Council-on-Aging and was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.  Also during his retirement, Ted and Pat enjoyed traveling and cruising the world. 

         Ted is survived by his 5 children and 6 grandchildren:  Peter Parady and his wife Karen, their children:  James and William Parady of Amesbury, MA,  Katherine Parady of Ipswich, Julia Giangregorio and her husband Steve of Chandler, AZ, Janice Parady of Beverly, MA, Christine Wesche and her husband David and their children:  Nola and Theodore, of Auburn, NH, Holly Ruggieri and her husband Michael of Westford, MA, and Christopher Wesche and his wife Courtney of Foxboro, MA.  Ted is also survived by his 2 great-grandchildren:  Brendan and Joshua Ruggieri.

          A funeral Mass will be held in the downstairs church hall on Friday  July 30th.,  at  10:00 A.M.  at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church  54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich.  Burial will follow with military honors at the Cowles Memorial Cemetery  29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich.  Visiting hours will be Thursday  July 29th.  from  5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  in the Morris Funeral Home  45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Ted’s name to:  the United Service Organizations (the U.S.O.)  Donor Services  P.O.
