William Bond Obituary

William C. Bond of Ipswich, MA passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2020 at his home. “Bill” was born in Portland, ME on March 13, 1958. His family moved to Topsfield in 1967. He was educated in the Topsfield school system and graduated from Masconomet Regional High School class of 1976. He furthered his education at Roger Williams College and Wentworth Institute.

Bill began his work career at General Electric in the Steam Turbine Division. After 17 years at GE he went to work at Trireme Manufacturing in Topsfield. He retired in 2017from Parker-Hannifin where he was a Senior Quality Engineer.

Bill always had a love for the water, both fresh and salt. He spent countless summer weekends aboard his boat on Sebago Lake and had a special place in his heart for Cushings Island in Casco Bay.

He was a voracious reader, a trait he lovingly passed on to his daughter along with their shared passion of musical theater. In his retirement Bill was happiest sitting in his favorite chair with a good book. He attended many shows at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly and was active in the former “Pebblestone Players”,a community theatre group in Topsfield in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

Bill volunteered for years at the Topsfield Fair where he announced the popular tractor pull event. He served as a call firefighter for both the Topsfield and Ipswich Fire Departments in the 80’s.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Bond, and her mother Jennifer Dunham of  Beverly, MA, his mother, Caroline C. Bond of Peabody, MA and Sarasota, FL, siblings, David and Heidi Bond of Topsfield, MA, Christopher and Stephanie Bond of Johns Creek, GA, Stephanie and Tony Laniewicz of Lawrenceville, GA as well as many nieces and nephews.
