William J. “Billy” Markos, 69, of Ipswich, passed away on Friday December 15, 2023 after a brief illness.
Billy was born on April 12, 1954 to John “Yogi” and Helen Markos in Ipswich. After Billy graduated from Ipswich High School in 1972, he went on to study hotel and restaurant management at theUniversity of New Hampshire.
After graduating with a BS degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management, Billy started his first job as a manager for Marriott Corporation. Then he worked as a tour guide in Italy. Later, he opened his own restaurant “The Eagle House” in Rowley, Massachusetts.
Billy was a licensed real estate broker and owned several properties in Ipswich, Rowley and Boston.
Billy was predeceased by his mother and father and older brother, Larry Markos. He is survived by his loving partner, Javier Adorno, his sisters, Marlene Markos and Kathryn Waiswilos, brother George J Markos, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 21st at Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich between the hours of 9:00 – 10:30 AM, followed by services at the Greek Orthodox Church 8 Lafayette Road, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Billy was a lifelong parishioner in his church.
